Independent models answer
AreI sends it to two AI models from different makers — three when the question looks time-sensitive, high-stakes or very short. Today they come from OpenAI gpt-oss, DeepSeek V4, Google Gemma.
AreI compares them claim by claim
It breaks each answer into individual statements, flags the ones that may conflict, and has another model test the conflicts that would change the answer.
You get one answer, labelled
Built only from statements that held up, with a label saying how settled it is, and the conflicts, uncertainty and limits listed underneath.
Every answer says how settled it is
The label comes first, in plain words, so you know how much weight the answer can bear before you read it.
- Conditional
- The answer holds under conditions that are stated with it. Most answers today carry this label.
- Mixed
- Parts of the answer stand and parts are contested. The contested parts are listed.
- Unresolved
- An important conflict could not be settled. Both positions are shown, so you can see what is at stake.
- Insufficient evidence
- Nothing met the bar for an answer. AreI says so rather than guess.
- Refused
- Answering would not have been responsible.
- Supported
- The strongest label: everything the answer rests on was accepted and nothing material is in dispute. It needs a checked source, and AreI does not look up sources yet, so you will not see it today.
What makes it different
Agreement isn't proof
Two models saying the same thing doesn't make it true, so AreI never decides by counting votes.
Conflicts stay visible
A possible conflict is listed with each model's own words, and AreI says whether it proved the conflict or only flagged it.
It shows its work
Every answer carries a receipt: which models were asked, how many calls it took, how long, and what it cost.
Honest limits
- AreI is new, and it often answers “insufficient evidence” rather than guess. That is deliberate, but it means it will sometimes decline a question a chatbot would answer.
- It doesn't look anything up on the web yet, so it can't confirm current facts.
- Its comparison can miss a real conflict or flag a false one. It tells you which conflicts it proved and which it only suspects.
